Reggaeton celebrity Daddy Yankee’s vibrant Puerto Rico home is on Airbnb - Architectural Digest

As one of the biggest stars from Puerto Rico, reggaeton artist Daddy Yankee now wants to open his home on the island to six lucky fans. The rapper (you know his dance floor anthem “Gasolina” and other hits like “Rompe” and “Dura”) has teamed up with Airbnb to offer three different one-night stays for up to two guests each at his house in Luquillo, a town in the northeast part of the island not far from El Yunque National Forest.

Booking opens on December 2, when up to two guests can reserve December 13, December 15, or December 17 at the residence for only $85 per night—a reference to the more than 85 singles Yankee has released in his career. Designed by Stewart Rodriguez, the residence is as vibrant and colorful as Yankee himself. The living room features a psychedelic black-and-white striped design on the ceiling and walls, with yellow accents, a pool table adorned with the Puerto Rican flag, and plaques commemorating Yankee’s achievements on the walls.

Outside, there is a volleyball court and a pool with an adjacent pavilion painted a vibrant teal and decorated with a mural. Inside the pool house, bright inflatable furniture is the perfect place to perch while hopping in and out of the water, and a macramé hammock is the perfect spot to relax.

Guests who stay at the home will be treated to a virtual greeting from the “Con Calma” singer and a guide to his favorite local restaurants, bars, and attractions. In honor of the experience, Airbnb will donate to ProTechos, an organization that is working to rebuild roofs and teach carpentry in order to help rebuild the island in the wake of Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017.

“A love for music and for Puerto Rico runs in my blood,” Daddy Yankee said in a release. “By hosting these stays, I want to share la cultura de mi gente, our pride and our flavor—and demonstrate how easy it can be to invite others into your world, with el calor that completes it.”
